Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
Psalm 107:2 NKJV
You have been redeemed. Where you once were a part of the darkness… belonging to another lord, another kingdom… now you have been purchased with perfect Blood and translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son, Jesus. Now you are light! Live as a child of the light…
You are the Father’s expensive purchase. Your life is so precious to Him that He paid a high price and works hard to keep you clean, polished, and safe for His return. He is constantly interceding for you, even now, and continually drawing you to His side because He loves you. He has a plan for your life that is better than anything you could ever ask, think, or imagine! He came to give you abundant life filled with supernatural joy and peace that makes no sense. He created you to walk closely with Him every single day.
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
John 10:10 AMP
Your former king has a plan for your life that is much different from the Lord’s. The enemy’s plan will always be to steal, kill, and destroy everything the Lord has prepared for you, so that he can ultimately destroy you. But he is often subtle in the way he works, making you think your thoughts and feelings are coming from you, or from your difficult circumstances. He weasels his way into your life with fear, doubt, anxiety, insecurity, false guilt, condemnation, pressure, heavy burdens, etc. He uses manipulative tactics to gain access into your heart, mind, and emotions, but he was not invited and he is not welcome!
He has no legal right to be there because you are a child of God. Your life was purchased outright. You were adopted into a new family and now sit with Christ at God’s right hand. There is no wiggle room to argue that point. The contract created and signed by the Blood of Christ is iron clad! You belong to Jesus, and the enemy has no right to even step a foot in your direction, much less put a hand on your life.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Colossians 2:14-15
All that to say, you don’t have to just sit there and take it. You have the authority (and responsibility – Ephesians 6:13), in Christ, to resist the enemy and stand firm on God’s Word. Many may believe this truth, but few will stand up and push back against the enemy as he tries to rob them. When they do, he will flee (James 4:7).
Today is the day to look up Bible verses that speak God’s truth into your own situation and openly declare them over your life. God is good and He loves you. He has already provided you with victory. All you have to do is stand up and take it!
- Isaiah 35:10 – So the redeemed of the LORD will return and enter Zion with singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee.
- Psalm 126:1-2 – When the LORD restored the captives of Zion, we were like dreamers. / Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
- 1 Peter 5:4 – And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
- Psalm 30:11 – You turned my mourning into dancing; You peeled off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing Your praises and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks forever.
