I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my family at the lake this weekend! Though we missed those who could not be with us, we took full advantage of early morning sunrises, water activities, boutique shopping, and way too many amazing oatmeal pecan toffee cookies, home made by my brother, the baker [one of his many talents].
By the end of our time together, I was so relaxed I felt like I’d had a full body massage… and that was probably from the swimming!
As my mind returns to work and the disciplines of regular life, I thank God for my family, His provision in all we do, and the work He completed on the cross for all of us… yourself included.
I thank God that He holds our future, yours and mine, and makes all the impossible things possible in Christ Jesus. His grace connects all the dots, His mercy gives us chance after chance after chance…
He is good, and He can be trusted.
May we follow Him in obedience out of love for His heart. May we see every piece of our lives through His eyes and by the shining light of His Word.
And may we truly know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and personally know this love that surpasses knowledge—that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19).
Servants, in everything obey those who are your masters on earth, not only with external service, as those who merely please people, but with sincerity of heart because of your fear of the Lord.
Whatever you do, whatever your task may be, work from the soul… that is, put in your very best effort… as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing with all certainty that it is from the Lord, not from men, that you will receive the inheritance which is your greatest reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you actually serve.
